We don’t get it, but Shia LaBeouf is a hot commodity in Hollywood right now. Earlier this week it was announced John Grisham handpicked Shia to star in “The Associate.” The actor has now confirmed he’s landed a co-starring role opposite Michael Douglas in a sequel to the 1987 film “Wall Street.”
Having read the script for ‘Money Never Sleeps’, the ‘Transfomers’ star describes the movie as “a walk and talk money movie” that’s “wordy and heady.”
“I don’t know what a credit derivative is,” says LaBeouf. “I have no idea. I don’t know what a CPO is. IPB. LVC. You gotta know ticker names.”
LaBeouf says getting ready for the role will be like taking a college course in finance because he has “no concept” of the market.
Filming of the sequel to the original 1987 film, for which Michael Douglas won an Oscar, begins in August.
