‘Best Week Ever’ Canceled?
Is VH1′s weekly pop culture round-up show finally done?
It sure looks that way. New York Magazine originally reported that the show will be off the air until 2010. Which in TV land is effectively considered the same as an unofficial cancellation. Since Best Week Ever normally breaks for weeks at a time, not months, many employees have begun job searches.
Not only were staffers expecting to return to work in the fall, host Paul F. Tompkins is planning to move back to Los Angeles.
“VH1′s Best Week Ever has actually gone on its scheduled production hiatus and will return in January 2010. Its companion piece Best Day Ever which spoofs that day’s pop culture news will return this fall,” said the network’s spokesperson.
We say good riddance, the show went considerably downhill since the format changed and relaunched with the unfunny gap-toothed wonder as the sole host and a handful of the usual commentators. “The Soup” is far superior, anyway!
