Italian Woman Misses Air France Flight 447 Later Dies In Car Crash
Is this a viral marketing scheme for Final Destination 15 or something? Insanely creepy.
An Italian woman who missed AF 447 flight has died in car crash. Johanna Ganthalera, a pensioner from the Bolzano-Bozen Province (South Tyrol, Italy), and her husband Kurt were on holiday in Brazil and were supposed to take Air France flight 447 back to Paris.
But circumstances caused the couple to be late and miss the doomed flight and they decided to take a different flight home to Europe instead. All 228 people on board the Air France flight were killed when it crashed in the Atlantic. But the two pensioners had barely managed to digest the terrible tragedy they had managed to avoid when they were involved in a car accident.
According to the Italian news agency ANSA, the couple rented a car in Munich, Germany and decided to drive home to Italy. On their way home, while driving through Kufstein, Austria, their car veered across the road into the opposite lane and they had a head on collision with an oncoming truck. Mrs Ganthaler later died at hospital that she was taken to.
Her husband was seriously injured and remains in critical condition.
This story has got to make you wonder. A tragic random occurrence of events or you can’t escape fate? Either way it’s an incredibly bizarre and sad story.
