Jon and Kate Plus Eight ratings had been steadily dropping since their huge premiere a few weeks ago, so the producers are using a divorce announcement as a cheap ploy to bring the viewers back. Even if it does give them the rating’s boost they want, the backlash is full effect so any gain will be temporary. The show will probably be canceled after this season.
