Billy Bob Thornton’s Daughter Charged With Murder
The estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton has been charged with murder over the death of a one-year-old girl she was babysitting.
Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County jail in Flordia last night.
She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child.
Amanda called 911 last October after she claimed that a baby she was caring for fell from her playpen and hit her head. Police became suspicious after realizing that Amanda’s story was inconsistent with the girl’s injuries. Amanda also claimed the child acted normally and ate bananas after she fell which is why she waited hours before calling an ambulance.
An autopsy revealed the child suffered a fractured skull and a brain injury due to blunt trauma.
When Brumfield was initially charged with child neglect, Billy Bob Thornton’s publicist quickly issued a statement distancing Thornton, claiming that father and daughter were estranged and has had no contact with her for quite some time. Brumfield is Billy Bob’s eldest daughter by first wife Melissa Parish.
