Johnny Depp Tips Chicago Server $4,000

If his recent visit to a Chicago restaurant is any indication, Johnny Depp is the favorite for the title of “Best Celebrity Tipper.” A bit of advice for all the servers out there: get Johnny Depp whatever the hell he wants, you just might get a $4,000 tip.

According to reports, the 46-year-old Oscar-nominated actor was in the Windy City for the premiere of Public Enemies, which tells the story of infamous Chicago gangster John Dillinger. After the premiere he dined with a group of friends – including his co-star Marion Cotillard and the film’s director Michael Mann – at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. Once they finished their meal at around 2:30 am, Depp covered the $4,400 bill and added a $4,000 tip to thank server Mohammaed A. Sekhani for staying late.

“Because he had visited us before he calls me ‘Mo’ and I know exactly the way he likes to be treated. He may be one of the most famous actors in the world but he is a very ‘humble guy’ and a really cool dude. Obviously, I was delighted with his tip but he has always been very generous every time that he has visited us here at Gibsons.”
