Father of Jackson’s Molestation Accuser Found Dead, Possible Suicide
According to The Post, the father of a boy who once accused Michael Jackson of molestation has been found dead, hence the post title.
Evan Chandler, a Beverly Hills dentist, was found dead in Jersey City, NJ, last night. Though the cause of death remains under investigation, it’s being reported that Chandler died from a self inflicted gun shot to the side of his head
In the summer of 1993, Chandler rose to infamy when he reported to the authorities in both Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, that Michael Jackson molested his son Jordy, who was only 13 at the time.
Subsequently, an investigation was launched by the Santa Barbara County DA’s office over the allegations. However, Michael was never charged, and the state closed its criminal investigation, citing lack of evidence.
A civil suit was brought against the King of the Pop and is said to have been settled for $15 million. Chandler later filed a $60 million lawsuit in 1996, claiming the terms of a confidentiality deal were breached when Michael and his then wife, Lisa Marie Presley talked about the case with ABC’s Diane Sawyer the previous year.
Jordy, now 29, has never spoken publicly about the case.
