According to reports, the driver of a Miley Cyrus tour bus was killed Friday when the bus overturned in Virginia on I-85. The accident left nine others with minor injuries. Virginia State Police confirm that Miley was not on board.
Miley and her tour were in a 4-vehicle caravan when one of the buses overturned. Officials say the road was still wet from overnight rain, and a witness at the scene claims the bus appeared to have drifted off the road for a long distance before finally flipping over, sliding into a ditch. Police are not yet sure if the driver William G. Douglas, 53, of Austin, Texas, died prior to the crash, prompting the bus to flip, or died as a result of the crash. The accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. in Dinwiddie County, about 40 miles south of Richmond.
Naturally, everyone involved is shaken and grieving over the death William Douglas. Miley is scheduled to perform in Greensboro, NC on Sunday, but that remains to be seen. More details and the cause of the crash are still pending.
