Brittany Murphy’s Husband Found Dead

Simon Monjack made it nearly impossible to shed a tear for him after he became a widow five months ago when his wife Brittany Murphy died. The shady attempts to profit off her death combined with the suspicion he was trying to sleep with Brittany’s mother, didn’t sit well with many people. Well, he’s dead now.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Monjack was found dead of an apparent cardiac arrest Sunday night at his home in the Hollywood Hills. At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. It was Brittany’s mom Sharon who discovered his body. She was also the person who discovered her daughter’s body. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night.

There were no illegal drugs found in the house but according to sources, Monjack may have been the victim of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. Apparently there were quite a few empty prescription pill bottles on the nightstand in the bedroom..

In February, Murphy died of pneumonia complicated by an iron deficiency, anemia and multiple drug intoxication. Coroner’s officials said Murphy had gone into sudden cardiac arrest because of “drug intake,” and her Dec. 20 death was classified as an accident.

Monjack was in the upper echelon of creepiness, but it’s pretty sad that Brittany’s mom had to be the one to discover her daughter’s and Monjack’s bodies.
